What volunteering with SOAP looks like

Hotel outreaches. Volunteers deliver bars of soap labeled with the national human trafficking hotline number to participating hotels and motels, along with training materials for hotel staff on the signs of trafficking. Most outreaches take a few hours on a weekend, you go out in small teams, and no prior experience is required. Training happens the day of the event, so you can join your first one without any preparation.

Chapters. Chapter leaders organize hotel outreaches, connect with churches and community organizations, recruit volunteers, and help educate others about human trafficking. Our national team provides training, materials and ongoing support along the way. You do not need to be an expert in human trafficking or have everything figured out before you begin. You need a heart for this mission and a willingness to bring people together.

Soap labeling and special events. Labeling events are the easiest way to start, and they work well for church groups, student groups, workplaces and families, including younger volunteers. Beyond labeling, volunteers help at survivor wellness weekends, conferences, fundraising events and administrative projects throughout the year.

Skills and group projects. If you have professional skills to offer, in areas such as design, writing, translation, event planning or bookkeeping, tell us on the volunteer form and we will find a place for them. Companies and teams looking for a group volunteer project are welcome as well.
