Honoring Cheri Crider

The Cheri Crider Dental Assistance Program honors the life and legacy of Cheri Crider, a survivor of human trafficking whose courage, compassion, and advocacy impacted countless lives.

After surviving years of exploitation, Cheri dedicated her life to helping other survivors heal. Through education, public speaking, and survivor leadership, she challenged misconceptions about trafficking while encouraging communities to better understand trauma and the barriers survivors face.

Cheri believed that healing involves more than safety—it also means restoring dignity, confidence, and hope. Access to dental care can be a significant part of that journey, helping survivors rebuild their health, self-esteem, and opportunities for the future.

Cheri passed away in 2025, but her passion for serving survivors continues through this program. We are honored to carry forward her legacy by helping survivors receive the dental care they need as they continue their healing journey.

If you are an adult survivor of human trafficking in the United States and are in need of dental care, you may be eligible to apply for assistance through the Cheri Crider Dental Assistance Program. The information below outlines the eligibility requirements and explains what you can expect during the application process.

Who Can Apply?

  • Survivor of human trafficking

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Trafficked within the United States

  • Willing to complete the application and any required follow-up documentation

How the Process Works

  1. Complete the online application.

  2. Receive an email confirming your submission.

  3. If selected to move forward, complete the authorization and release forms.

  4. The review committee generally reviews applications within two months, unless there is an emergency situation.

  5. Applicants will be notified of the decision after review.
